Gruyères
Gruyères is a picturesque medieval village in the canton of Fribourg, famous for its beautifully preserved old town and the hilltop Gruyères Castle overlooking the region. It is internationally known for Gruyère cheese, whose traditional production can be experienced at La Maison du Gruyère, and for world-class Swiss chocolate at the nearby Maison Cailler in Broc.
In addition to its historic charm, Gruyères offers a touch of modern culture through the unique HR Giger Museum, showcasing the surreal works of the creator of Alien. The blend of history, gastronomy, art, and stunning landscapes makes Gruyères one of Switzerland’s most enchanting destinations.
